Reflecting on Two Years at Star Avenue Studios
As I reflect on the last two years since we launched Star Avenue Studios, I am reminded of the journey we've been on and the progress we've made. The first year was tough, as we struggled to convince people that they could rent affordable film studio space in Adelaide. However, we persevered, and over the last six months, we've experienced a significant breakthrough.
It has been amazing to see the studio bustling with shoots ranging from photography and corporate videos to music videos, TV commercials, short films, and even feature films. We've worked hard to provide our clients with the best possible experience, and it's rewarding to see that our efforts have paid off.
Recently, Kate Croser, CEO of the South Australian Film Corporation, held an event where she discussed her team's efforts to foster a sustainable pipeline of projects for our local crew. She highlighted the importance of providing emerging and mid-career filmmakers with the opportunity to work in a studio setting as early as possible in their careers. I couldn't agree more with her sentiment. By offering these opportunities, we can help to nurture the next generation of filmmakers and ensure a sustainable future for the film industry in SA.
As a business owner, I often find it challenging to take a moment to appreciate our achievements. However, when I look at what we have accomplished, I am incredibly proud. We are playing a part in bolstering the film industry in SA, and that's something to be proud of.
